- Confidentiality: We take very seriously the responsibility to keep confidential the topics discussed in therapy. We believe that confidentiality will aid in developing the therapist-client relationship and is an important part of the therapy process.
- Respect for the Individual: We believe that every person has inherent worth and dignity, and we strive to respect each person’s right to make decisions for themselves as well as each person’s expertise in matters of their own life. This includes the principle of Self-Determination.
- Empowerment: We believe that the therapy process serves as a tool for empowerment—meaning that it fosters power in the individual that they can then use in their own lives and communities to effect real changes.
- Importance of Systems and Relationships: While most of therapy is individual, we are all impacted by the relationships and communities that surround us. The therapy process would be lacking if it didn’t acknowledge and impact those around us, too.
- Integrity and Competence: Redemption Counseling Services will always strive for competence in our field of practice. If we ever feel like we are not competent in an area, we will talk about referring you to a counselor who is more able to handle your individual needs. We also value integrity in relationships and business practices.
