Anna Snyder—LCSW
As the founder of Redemption Counseling Services, LLC, I have over 11 years of professional experience working with people in a counseling setting. I have worked with children, families, and adults in an office setting, in the schools, in the home, and many other locations. I began my journey working with families and mothers seeking adoption services, and since then have enjoyed working with mental health needs in the community for the past 4 years. My favorite thing about counseling is watching people grow and change to achieve their goals as they are empowered by the counseling process. I love witnessing real change in the lives of people after (sometimes) years of feeling stuck or frustrated by problems in their lives.
I would like to share with you a bit about my counseling philosophy.
I believe that counseling is almost always effective when both parties are willing to work for the changes they want to see. I promise to do my best work as a counselor to help you accomplish your goals, and I ask that you also come prepared to work towards change in your life inside and outside of session.
- Counseling should be specific and targeted toward the changes and goals that you wish to see in your life. You should not have to be in counseling long-term to start seeing progress.
- Counseling can be beneficial for anyone wishing to enact change in their life. Having a big “issue” is not a requirement. If you have something in your life that you wish to grow in or change, counseling can be an important part of that growth!
- I believe that everyone is impacted by the events and people in their life. While a lot of the counseling process will focus on the present, we cannot ignore the past or the people that made us who we are today.
- We are all a part of a bigger system—be that our work, family, or friends. Sometimes changing ourselves means also understanding changes that need to happen in our environment.
My goal in counseling is to work myself out of a job. I look forward to the day when you feel you have learned the skills needed to continue growing and improving on your own and we decide to “fire” me.
